MATTHEW BRENNAN, CADC-II
After 30+ years in the electronic music business, I felt a shift and a desire to help others navigate the ever-changing maze of life. Although I remain involved with aspects of music culture, my primary focus has shifted to counseling psychology, specifically experiential mental health counseling.
In 2010, I completed my education in addiction counseling at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles and earned a CADC-II certification from the California Consortium of Addiction Programs and Professionals (CCAPP). My authentic, open-minded, humanistic counseling style is primarily guided by the holistic principles of Gestalt Therapy, Reichian Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Reality Therapy/Choice Theory, and Somatic Experiencing.
I also incorporate my background in music by providing guided music meditations, which combine therapeutic techniques with the transformative power of music to enhance mental well-being.
Throughout my career, I have provided extensive individual and group counseling services to hundreds of chronically ill clients. Additionally, I have supervised, educated, and directed both credentialed and licensed clinicians at various centers in the Los Angeles area.
